| Job Description | This person will lead and coordinate all aspects of Phase I-II human clinical trials including investigative medicine and mechanistic work for the pharmaceutical products under development in the Biocon-BMS facility in Bangalore, India and will ensure integration with the US Discovery Medicine , Clinical Pharmacology organization. This includes developing a strategy for clinical trials in India by establishing networks, serving as conduit for patient trials while working with regulators and government officials to facilitate faster, higher quality, higher value clinical trials that address critical exploratory development questions. Will liase with Clinical Scientists in the US in the planning, execution, including clinical biomarker and data collection activities and interpretation of clinical trials. In addition, the selected individual will be responsible for setting up a biomarker capability to deliver qpCR, IHC and flow cytomtery assays for trials run in India and outside of India across multiple therapeutic areas. Collaborate closely with colleagues in early discovery and clinical development to support compound development plans including response prediction, safety, proof of mechanism and proof of concept studies. This position requires familiarity with biomarker and diagnostic tools including application of biochemical, genomic, and imaging technologies for the identification, development and implementation of novel biomarker measurements. |
| Skill Required | MD or MD, PhD with a minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience is required. An intimate knowledge of exploratory drug development coupled with experience in a broad range of biomarker discovery technologies and strategies is required. Demonstrable experience with analysis and interpretation of complex datasets is essential. Superior ability to collaborate, delegate, and manage teams within a matrix environment is expected. The position requires excellence in translational research and application of diverse skills to guide early clinical development and biomarker strategy. Familiarity with bioimaging modalities is desirable. |
